Manage your subscription
Updated Sep 28, 2026
Only an owner manages the organization's plan, from Settings → Billing. Anyone else who opens that page is told the owner manages it.
Buying or switching a plan
- Open Settings → Billing.
- Under Plans, choose Monthly or Annual · 2 months free.
- On the plan you want, select Subscribe — or Switch to the plan, when you're already on one. The button states what you'll be charged today, with any discount already taken off. A switch asks you to confirm first, and names the plan that ends.
- Pay on Stripe's secure checkout page, which opens in a popup window. Your card details go to Stripe and never pass through GIG.
- Keep Settings → Billing open while you pay. It updates the moment the payment lands, and the new plan is active straight away.
While the payment window is open, Reopen window brings it back and Cancel stops waiting. Nothing is charged unless you finish paying on Stripe's page.
Organization isn't bought here — its row shows Talk to us, because that plan is set up with GIG. Write to billing@thegigapp.ca.
When you're charged
You pay for your first month, or your first year, at purchase. Renewals then land on the 1st of the month (UTC) on or after that first period ends, and the days in between are free. GIG never prorates: no partial charges and no credits, ever.
Switching to a different plan works the same way as buying one. The new plan's paid period starts straight away, and the old plan ends the moment the new one is paid — not at the end of the period you paid for — with no credit or refund for the time left on it. That includes a free trial: its remaining days end too. A smaller plan needs your team to fit it — if it doesn't, that plan's row says how many team seats it takes and how many you have, so reduce your team first.
To move between monthly and yearly billing on the same plan, write to billing@thegigapp.ca.
Cancelling
- In Settings → Billing, select Cancel on your current plan.
- Select Cancel plan to confirm, or Keep plan to back out.
The plan keeps running until the period you've already paid for ends, then your organization moves to Free. Nothing is deleted: you can't add more than Free's limits allow, and features Free doesn't include lock until you subscribe again.
Until that date, the plan's row shows when it ends and a Resume subscription button. Resuming charges nothing, because the period is already paid for — the plan carries on renewing on the 1st.
