Connect Stripe to get paid
Updated Sep 27, 2026
To invoice your own clients and collect their payments, connect your organization's own Stripe account. An Owner can do this from Settings → Connections — anyone else who opens that page is sent back to Settings. An Owner or Admin can also do it from Finance → Dashboard, which shows a Connect Stripe banner there until the organization is connected.
Connecting
- Open Settings → Connections (Owners only), or go to Finance → Dashboard and find the Connect Stripe banner (Owners and Admins).
- Click Connect Stripe. A dialog opens explaining that funds are paid into your Stripe account, not GIG's, and stating the payments fee GIG deducts from payments processed through it.
- Click Agree & continue to Stripe. This hands you off to Stripe's own sign-up. Stripe, not GIG, decides what it needs to verify you — expect to give your business details, the people who own or control it, and a bank account for payouts.
- Stripe returns you to Finance → Dashboard, whichever screen you started from. A banner there confirms the connection or explains why it didn't go through — nothing is saved until that banner says it is connected. Settings → Connections picks up the new status the next time you open it.
The payments fee
When your organization collects money through GIG on its connected account — invoices and memberships — GIG deducts a payments fee. It is a percentage of each payment, set by your plan, never more than $25 on one payment, and with no fixed amount on top:
- Free — 2%
- Crew — 1%
- Production — 0.5%
- Organization — 0.25%, or a negotiated rate
The Connect dialog states your organization's rate before you agree to anything. The fee is separate from whatever Stripe itself charges to move the money, which Stripe deducts on its own. See Plans and seats for what else each plan includes.
After you're connected
Settings → Connections shows Connected, along with your business name, country, currency and account status — all read live from Stripe, not stored by GIG. A link underneath opens your full Stripe dashboard; sign in there with your own Stripe credentials for payouts, balances and payment history in detail.
What this is not
This connects your organization's own Stripe account so it can receive money from its clients. It has nothing to do with what your organization pays GIG for its plan — that's on the Manage your subscription page, billed on a completely separate Stripe account that GIG controls.
What GIG never touches
Every payment lands directly in your own Stripe account — GIG never holds your money, and never sees a card number.
