File uploads on a form
Updated Aug 31, 2026
A form field can accept a file upload — a headshot, a signed page, a certificate.
Where the file goes
The file is stored against the submission, not loose in your document library. Opening the submission is how you get to it.
Housekeeping
Attachments belonging to submissions that no longer exist are swept nightly, so a deleted submission does not leave its files behind.
Size limits
| Limit | Value | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Tabs in one document | 50 | Nested one level deep. |
| Days in the Docs trash | 30 | After this an item and its uploaded file are removed for good. |
| Rows in a chip | 5,000 | Past this, what you have is a Data table. Build it there and link to it. |
| Tags on one document | 25 | Past this a tag has stopped narrowing anything. |
| Rows a chip contributes to an export | 500 | Whatever is left out is stated in the exported table itself. |
| Columns in a chip | 30 | A document column is not a place for two hundred fields. |
| Documents in one cluster | 300 | The curated page list of a wiki. |
| Rows an anonymous reader pulls from an embedded chip | 200 | Bounds the work one unauthenticated page load can ask for. |
| Clusters per organization | 50 | Separate published or internal handbooks. |
